Role overview
Senior Process Safety technical authority role for a major-hazard operating asset in the UAE.
The position owns risk-based Process Safety Management across the full asset lifecycle.
The role influences Operations, Engineering, Projects, and senior EHS stakeholders on risk acceptance and technical integrity.
Core responsibilities
- Lead or technically assure HAZOP, HAZID, and PHA studies.
- Govern Management of Change and Pre-Startup Safety Review processes.
- Oversee Safety Critical Elements and barrier assurance.
- Act as the senior Process Safety focal point for a live operating plant.
Required experience
- Approximately 20 years in petroleum, oil and gas, refining, gas processing, or petrochemical major-hazard environments.
- At least 10 years of substantial Process Safety or risk-management leadership.
- Personal ownership or governance of Process Safety Management elements.
- Strong HAZOP Team Leader experience and depth in SIL/LOPA, QRA, EERA, or facility siting.
- Experience with Safety Critical Elements, barrier assurance, and technical integrity interfaces.
- Structured incident investigation experience using TapRooT, Tripod Beta, or an equivalent method.
Preferred credentials
- NEBOSH Process Safety, IChemE, CCPS, or equivalent credentials are a strong advantage.
