About the Role
Emirates Group IT is seeking a Principal Solutions Architect to lead enterprise integration and API modernization. Responsibilities
- Lead the definition and governance of new corporate and portfolio IT standards, guidelines and practices
- Scout market and track technology advancements and new business innovations, determine how they relate to IT strategy, and lead work to amend existing assets or create new assets
- Lead the solution architecture development for new initiatives, vendor solution acquisitions, and enhancement of existing systems
- Provide expert advice and lead solution design reviews to projects on technical and architectural standards
- Provide architecture and technology leadership to development teams by playing the lead architect/driver role in Teams of Teams or Agile Release Trains
- Manage, direct, inspire and coach the work and capability of Solutions Architect and Senior Engineering resources
- Own, manage and maintain the architecture roadmap and runways of complex/large projects, technical products, environments and/or platforms
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline (12+3 or equivalent)
- 12+ years of IT experience with at least 5+ years in Integration Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, or Solution Architecture leadership roles within large scale enterprise IT environments
- Technical leadership in leading a group of technical architects and senior developers
- Proven experience designing enterprise scale integration platforms and digital ecosystems, with hands on expertise in API Management, iPaaS, ESB, cloud integration services, enterprise messaging and event streaming technologies, and microservices architectures
- Comprehensive understanding of enterprise integration technologies including SnapLogic, TIBCO, Informatica, Kong, Apigee, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Solace, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, Terraform, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Vertex AI, Amazon Bedrock, Datadog, Dynatrace, Splunk, Elastic, and OpenTelemetry
- Proven experience leading enterprise scale API, integration, and platform modernization initiatives spanning legacy transformation, cloud migration, and AI enablement
- Extensive experience defining and governing enterprise integration and API architecture standards, patterns, reference architectures, and lifecycle management practices
- Experience in driving adoption of AI assisted integration development including AI powered API design and documentation
- Experience leading cross portfolio architectural intent and engaging with Enterprise Architecture, Engineering, Security, Cloud, and Business stakeholders at senior levels
- AWS/Azure Certified Solutions Architect preferred

- As a Principal Solutions Architect, you will play a pivotal role leading the Enterprise Integration and API Modernisation programme from Enterprise Architecture.
In the role, you will:
- Lead the definition and governance of new corporate and portfolio IT standards, guidelines and practices by analysing and understanding potential impact of competing technologies, assessing their strategic significance, defining their strategic role and scope, roadmap, relationship to existing stand

- Lead the solution architecture development for new initiatives, vendor solution acquisitions, and enhancement of existing systems, taking full responsibility for the quality of the architecture, including integration architecture by aligning to agile architecture development practices. Qualification
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline (12+3 or equivalent).
- 12+ years of IT experience with at least 5+ years in Integration Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, or Solution Architecture leadership roles within large scale enterprise IT environments.

- Proven experience designing enterprise scale integration platforms and digital ecosystems, with hands on expertise in API Management, iPaaS, Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), cloud integration services, enterprise messaging and event streaming technologies, and microservices architectures.
