Principal Software Engineer (Java Full stack)

Role overview

Software engineering

• Develop backend and full-stack features using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and relational databases.
• Build modular services and support microservices-based designs, integrations, and data models.
• Provide robust backend APIs for Angular and React frontend teams.
• Implement high-performance data processing and integration logic for analytical workflows.

Architecture and quality

• Apply SOLID, object-oriented, layered, and hexagonal architecture principles.
• Contribute to architecture discussions, technical trade-off analysis, and design decisions.
• Use unit testing, mocking frameworks, static analysis, performance profiling, memory analysis, and JVM tuning.
• Support production performance, stability, test coverage, and release quality.

Collaboration and delivery

• Work in Agile/Scrum teams through planning, reviews, retrospectives, development, deployment, and maintenance.
• Collaborate with product, QA, DevOps, architecture, and global stakeholder teams.
• Mentor engineers and promote coding standards, automated testing, and continuous improvement.

Technical skills

• Required technologies include Java 8+, Spring Boot, REST APIs, SQL, Angular, React, MongoDB, microservices, Hibernate/JPA, JUnit, Mockito, and SonarQube.
• Integration experience includes API-based, file-based, and message-based integrations such as Azure Service Bus.
• Additional technologies include Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Azure, Maven, and Gradle.

Methods and practices

• Expected practices include Scaled Agile, Lean, Kanban, Zero-Defect Development, CI/CD, automated builds, deployments, and testing.
• Follow development guidelines, coding standards, and SonarQube-based static code analysis.

Qualifications

• MCA or bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or an equivalent field.
• 8+ years of hands-on Java software development experience on global or enterprise projects.
• Proven product development experience and strong knowledge of the product development lifecycle.
• Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, learning, and continuous improvement abilities.
• Experience with shipping or logistics workflows, scientific data processing, and Azure cloud-native development is advantageous.
