Job Purpose
The Principal Engineer supports engineering objectives through technical leadership, planning, and delivery of secure communication device projects.
The role requires strong knowledge of cryptography, Rust software development, and internet protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead system-level software development and coordinate with hardware, manufacturing, product owners, and other stakeholders.
- Design, develop, validate, and document embedded firmware and software in Verilog, Rust, and C.
- Analyze and debug embedded systems for stability, reliability, and performance.
- Implement automated test cases for embedded devices.
- Deliver projects using agile methods while meeting timelines and quality standards.
- Drive innovation through technical improvement and automation opportunities.
Education and Experience
- At least 10 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related field.
Technical Skills
- Working proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and Git.
- Hands-on software or firmware development in at least two of Rust, FPGA with Verilog, or C for Linux kernel, boot loaders, or FreeRTOS.
- Experience with embedded software architectures, design patterns, Linux-based systems using Yocto, and continuous integration.
- Domain knowledge in multiple areas including Ethernet communications, remote network infrastructure management, cryptography, or audio processing.
- Knowledge of information and communications security, including cryptography.
- Robot Framework test automation experience is a plus.
Working Approach
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment as a team player.
- Understanding of agile development and experience with self-organizing cross-functional teams.
Compensation
- The source states a base salary of around EUR 8,000 based on candidate experience, without specifying a payment cadence.
