Role overview

Lead the growth and delivery of AECOM’s Ports and Marine Engineering practice.

Combine strategic leadership, client development, operational performance, project delivery, and people development.

Focus on existing Ports and Marine projects and growth in complex, multidisciplinary infrastructure sectors.

Leadership and delivery

  • Lead client relationships and ensure projects meet schedule, cost, and quality targets.
  • Implement project governance standards and drive continuous improvement through feedback and delivery performance.
  • Build effective supply chain and partner relationships.
  • Grow regional capability and capacity through collaboration with Enterprise Capability teams.
  • Drive utilization, national resource planning, and practice performance.

People, safety, and performance

  • Mentor, develop, and retain high-performing distributed teams while fostering an inclusive culture.
  • Drive quality, innovation, KPIs, cost, schedule, and growth performance across the practice.
  • Lead safety, health, environment, wellbeing, sustainability, and safety-metric improvement initiatives.

Collaboration and work winning

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary delivery across business lines, sectors, and global geographies.
  • Share knowledge, best practices, and technical expertise across the organization.
  • Deliver the existing framework and project portfolio while supporting repeat business and new opportunities.
  • Provide expertise and resources for sector-led bids and develop discipline-specific Enterprise Capability strategies.

Qualifications and experience

  • Extensive ports, coastal, or marine engineering experience leading large, complex programs.
  • Professional registration such as Chartered Engineer, PE, or equivalent.
  • Degree in civil, coastal, marine engineering, or a related field.
  • Success in client development, strategic pursuits, and major multidisciplinary project delivery.
  • Proven team leadership, P&L accountability, and capability building across distributed teams.

Technical background

  • Strong grounding in marine structures, including quay walls, jetties, and berths.
  • Experience or expertise in coastal protection, dredging, reclamation, terminals, navigation, and resilience.
  • Familiarity with PIANC, regional codes, BIM, analytics, and modeling is sought.

Workplace

  • The role offers hybrid work options across AECOM offices, remote locations, and client sites.
  • Newly hired employees must attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office.
