About the Role

Responsibilities
- Provide preventative care, diagnosis, and treatment of foot, ankle, and lower leg conditions
- Prescribe medications and orthotics
- Perform cryotherapy, electrosurgery, ultrasonic therapy, and specialized dressings
- Assess, diagnose, and treat abnormalities and diseases of the foot and lower limb
- Provide treatment for high risk patient groups such as the elderly and those at risk of amputation
- Use therapeutic and surgical techniques including nail and soft tissue surgery under local anesthetic
- Prescribe, produce, and fit orthotics and other aids
- Deliver foot health education
- Work with sports medicine to address sports related injuries to legs and feet
- Comply with OSH and infection control policies and procedures
Requirements
- Valid DOH/DHA or Equivalent Tier 1 Health license as Podiatrist
- Bachelor's degree in Podiatry from an accredited college (minimum 3 years course duration)
- MSc degree in Podiatry or Doctor of Podiatry
- Minimum 3 years of experience post qualification
- Completion of a 3 year residency program

Job Overview
- Podiatrist provide preventative care, diagnosis and treatment of a range of problems affecting the feet, ankles and lower legs.
- This can include infections, defects and injuries, as well as foot and nail conditions related to other major health disorders such as diabetes.

Qualifications
- Valid DOH/DHA or Equivalent Tier 1 Health license as Podiatrist
- Bachelor’s degree in Podiatry from an accredited college (minimum of three 3 years course duration)
- MSc degree in Podiatry or Doctor of Podiatry
- Min 3 years of experience post qualification
- Podiatrists must earn a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DOM) degree and complete a 3 year residency program
