Role Overview

Qualifications

• High school diploma, vocational training, or equivalent qualification.
• Two to three years of relevant plumbing experience.
• Technical or vocational certification in Plumbing is preferred.
• Proven experience as a Plumber or in a similar plumbing or maintenance position.
• Good knowledge of plumbing systems, pipework, drainage, and sanitary installations.
• Ability to read plumbing drawings and technical specifications.
• Practical knowledge of plumbing tools, equipment, fittings, and materials.
• Ability to identify and troubleshoot plumbing faults and leaks.
• Knowledge of basic health and safety requirements related to plumbing work.
• Physical ability to perform manual work, including lifting and working in confined areas.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain water supply, drainage, and sanitary plumbing systems.
• Install and repair pipes, valves, pumps, water heaters, faucets, toilets, sinks, showers, and other plumbing fixtures.
• Read and interpret plumbing drawings, layouts, specifications, and schematics.
• Inspect systems for leaks, blockages, damaged pipes, and other faults.
• Diagnose problems and determine appropriate repair or replacement requirements.
• Perform pipe cutting, threading, joining, soldering, brazing, and related work.
• Clear blocked drains, pipelines, and sanitary fixtures.
• Conduct pressure tests and leak tests.
• Carry out preventive maintenance and routine inspections.
• Replace damaged or defective plumbing components.
• Coordinate with other maintenance personnel when required.
• Maintain tools and work areas, follow safety procedures and codes, respond to emergencies, and prepare basic maintenance reports.
