Role Overview
The employer is seeking a skilled and reliable Carpenter to join its landscaping team.
The role covers construction, installation, repair, and maintenance of timber and other outdoor structures for residential, commercial, and landscape projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Construct and install decks, pergolas, gazebos, fences, gates, screens, benches, planter boxes, timber edging, and other landscape structures.
- Read drawings, plans, and measurements; measure, cut, shape, assemble, and install materials.
- Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, saws, drills, and other carpentry equipment.
- Repair and maintain existing timber and outdoor structures.
- Work with landscapers, supervisors, designers, and other trades.
- Complete work safely, accurately, and within required timeframes.
- Maintain an organized work area, minimize material waste, and follow site safety requirements.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum 2–5 years of practical carpentry experience.
- Landscaping or outdoor construction experience is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of carpentry materials, tools, equipment, construction techniques, timber, fixings, finishes, and outdoor materials.
- Ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
- Ability to perform extended outdoor manual work, including lifting, carrying, bending, kneeling, and climbing.
- Good communication, teamwork, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and travel between project sites when required.
Advantageous Experience
- Experience with decking, pergolas, gazebos, fencing, gates, retaining structures, outdoor seating, garden structures, timber screens, landscape construction, residential landscaping, and general repairs.
- Relevant safety training or construction/site safety certification is desirable.
Work Location
- Work is performed in person.
