Role Overview

Install, maintain, and troubleshoot outdoor electrical systems for landscape projects.

Work closely with landscape supervisors, irrigation teams, and project managers to deliver safe, high-quality installations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational electrical training is preferred.
  • Proven experience in electrical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience with landscape and outdoor electrical systems.
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings, site plans, lighting layouts, and landscape construction drawings.
  • Familiarity with weatherproof enclosures, grounding and bonding, underground conduit, and outdoor-rated cabling.
  • Understanding of electrical safety codes, outdoor installation standards, and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Proficiency with multimeters, continuity testers, and insulation testers.
  • Ability to work outdoors, dig trenches, pull cable, lift equipment, and work in varying weather conditions.
  • A valid driver’s license is often preferred for site travel and service work.

Responsibilities

  • Install outdoor lighting, underground conduits, junction boxes, transformers, and outdoor distribution equipment.
  • Wire landscape lighting circuits, timers, photocells, smart controllers, and irrigation control panels.
  • Support electrical work for water features, fountains, pumps, and pond systems.
  • Inspect, maintain, test, diagnose, repair, and replace outdoor electrical components and control devices.
  • Verify timers, sensors, dimming systems, and automation controls operate correctly.
  • Use weatherproof and corrosion-resistant materials suitable for outdoor environments.
  • Identify electrical hazards and grounding issues and take corrective action.
  • Coordinate with landscape, irrigation, civil, and project supervision teams.
  • Maintain inspection, test, maintenance, and material usage records.
