Planning Engineer

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Develop and monitor detailed Primavera P6 schedules from mobilization through handover.
• Prepare cost-loaded and resource-loaded programmes, change logs, KPIs, and extension-of-time documentation.
• Coordinate with site engineers, procurement, subcontractors, and project control teams.
• Prepare look-ahead, progress, mitigation, recovery, and revised programmes.
• Conduct site visits to verify actual progress against planned timelines.
• Coordinate authority NOC approvals, traffic diversion programmes, and permits.
• Analyze critical path, float, resource allocation, and project delays.
• Attend progress meetings and present updates to management and clients.
• Prepare delay analyses, contractual correspondence, and project planning reports.
• Maintain schedules, reports, and planning documentation with document control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required; civil engineering or construction management is preferred.
• At least 7 years of experience in the relevant engineering discipline and at least 5 years in the proposed role on comparable UAE projects.
• Involvement in at least two Dubai projects within the last five years is required.
• Experience in bridges and infrastructure construction projects is required.
• Advanced Primavera P6 and MS Office Suite knowledge is required.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and project workflows is required.
• Good English language skills are required.
• PMP and Primavera P6 Professional certifications are preferred.

Technical and contractual knowledge

• Experience with Etihad Rail, RTA, or similar UAE projects is required or strongly relevant to the role.
• Knowledge of piling, pile caps, steel structures, deck slabs, bearings, and heavy lifting operations is relevant.
• Knowledge of temporary works, structural logistics, FIDIC contracts, claims, progress measurement, and earned value management is relevant.
