The role involves planning and delivering positive reinforcement training programs, exercising and socializing pets, and managing pet supplies and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for household pets, including feeding, administering medication, and grooming.
- Plan and deliver positive reinforcement training programs for basic obedience, lead walking, recall, behavioral issues, and enrichment activities.
- Exercise and socialize pets through walks, play sessions, and supervised interactions.
- Handle pets of varying sizes and temperaments, manage introductions between animals and visitors, and maintain control during household events.
- Accompany pets to veterinary, grooming, and training appointments.
- Maintain accurate records of feeding, medication, training progress, behavioral notes, and appointments.
- Manage pet supplies, equipment, and bedding inventory.
- Ensure pet areas, vehicles, and equipment are kept clean, hygienic, and safe.
- Support household routines and adapt care to travel, events, or changes in schedule.
- Provide advice to household members on animal care, nutrition, and behavior.
Requirements
- Experience in providing daily care for household pets, including feeding, administering medication, and grooming.
- Ability to plan and deliver positive reinforcement training programs.
- Knowledge of animal behavior and pet training techniques.
- Experience in handling pets of varying sizes and temperaments.
- Ability to exercise and socialize pets.
- Experience in managing pet supplies and equipment.
- Ability to maintain accurate records of feeding, medication, and training progress.
- Strong communication skills.
- Problem-solving skills.
