About the Job

The People and Culture Operations Manager is based at Mandarin Oriental, Doha, within the People and Culture team.

The role is responsible for maintaining and strengthening the People and Culture Department in line with the group’s culture and vision.

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group operates luxury hotels, resorts, and residences in prime destinations worldwide.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with departments to ensure the hotel’s recruitment needs are met.
  • Manage vacancies and recruitment functions in line with budgets and operational needs.
  • Manage procedures for starters, transfers, promotions, variations, and leavers.
  • Oversee day-to-day People and Culture operations and departmental workflow.
  • Plan, organize, and implement departmental activities.
  • Implement and annually update the compensation program.
  • Ensure adherence to Qatar legislation relating to People and Culture.
  • Manage headcounts in line with agreed departmental budgets.
  • Administer disciplinary and grievance procedures with the Director of People and Culture.
  • Provide HR support to department heads and colleagues.
  • Establish and maintain effective colleague relations.
  • Support and implement corporate and hotel People and Culture policies and procedures.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Degree or Higher National Diploma equivalent in Hospitality, Hotel Management, Business Management, or Human Resources.
  • Minimum two years of experience in a five-star hotel environment.
  • At least two years as a People and Culture Manager, or three years as an Assistant People and Culture Manager or equivalent.
  • International experience with GCC and/or Doha experience is preferred.
  • Fluent English communication skills are required.
  • Ability to learn and apply local laws effectively.
  • Ability to work with multicultural teams.
