Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai is seeking a Commis 1 to join the Tasca team.
The role supports food preparation and kitchen operations within a luxury hotel environment.
Responsibilities
- Wash and peel ingredients for dish production.
- Prepare mise en place to the required quality standards.
- Set up and replenish buffets.
- Assist with requisition collection and storage organization.
- Monitor ingredient quantities and report low stock levels.
- Store and label ingredients in dedicated containers.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen work areas, tools, and utensils.
- Report cleanliness and maintenance issues and support daily checks.
- Follow personal hygiene, food safety, and UAE Municipality standards.
- Support customer satisfaction and assist colleagues, outlets, and banquet operations.
- Attend required meetings and training and complete other reasonable duties.
Requirements
- High school qualification or equivalent is required.
- A hospitality or culinary arts degree or Higher National Diploma is preferred.
- Two years of Commis 1 or Commis 2 experience in a high-volume hotel or free-standing restaurant is preferred.
- Basic food holding and preparation experience is required.
- Candidates must be able to work long hours and handle objects weighing up to 15 kg without assistance.
- Basic knowledge of kitchen tools and utensils is required.
- Basic food hygiene knowledge is preferred.
