Role Overview
The Painter will prepare, paint, stain, and finish timber, metal, concrete, and other surfaces used in landscaping projects.
The role requires high-quality workmanship, attention to detail, and safe work in outdoor environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, filling, and repairing imperfections.
- Paint and finish timber structures, metal structures, garden furniture, landscape fixtures, and other outdoor elements.
- Apply primers, undercoats, sealants, protective coatings, and finishing products.
- Select and mix materials, use painting tools safely, protect surrounding areas, and complete touch-ups and repairs.
- Inspect finished work, correct defects, maintain tools and materials, and keep work areas clean and hazard-free.
- Coordinate with landscapers, carpenters, supervisors, and other trades to complete projects on schedule.
Qualifications
- A certificate, diploma, or recognized vocational qualification in painting, decorating, surface finishing, or a related trade is preferred.
- Relevant painting apprenticeship or trade training is advantageous.
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant painting experience is required, preferably in landscaping, outdoor construction, or property maintenance.
- Relevant health and safety training is desirable.
