Position Summary
Coordinates outside catering and banquet service activities during functions and supports a positive guest experience.
Works with chefs, stewards, kitchen staff, group contacts, guests, and the service team.
Catering and Banquet Duties
- Communicate service needs to chefs and stewards throughout functions.
- Total group-function charges and prepare checks for payment by group contacts.
- Prepare banquet rooms, restaurants, and coffee breaks for service.
- Set tables according to the event type and applicable service standards.
- Ensure centerpieces are displayed and inspect china, glassware, and silverware before use.
- Check guest satisfaction and communicate allergies, dietary needs, and special meal requests to the kitchen.
- Maintain clean work areas and follow safety, security, confidentiality, asset-protection, and quality procedures.
- Welcome guests, answer telephones using appropriate etiquette, and support team goals.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- At least two years of related work experience preferred.
- At least one year of supervisory experience preferred.
- No license or certification is required.
