Receive and process customer orders at a street food stall or food truck.
Interact with customers, record orders accurately, coordinate with kitchen staff, and support efficient service during busy periods.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers and provide friendly, courteous service.
- Assist with menu selection and answer questions about ingredients, flavors, and portion sizes.
- Take orders accurately and record special requests and modifications.
- Verify order details before finalizing each transaction.
- Communicate orders to kitchen staff and coordinate priorities during peak periods.
- Monitor order status and provide customers with wait-time updates.
- Resolve customer inquiries and complaints or escalate them to a supervisor.
- Maintain familiarity with menu items, changes, specials, and promotions.
- Keep the order counter, POS station, and surrounding areas clean and organized.
- Keep menus, promotional materials, and other customer-facing materials stocked and neatly displayed.
- Perform other duties assigned.
Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two to three years of food-service experience, preferably in a street-food or fast-casual restaurant environment.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Familiarity with POS systems or order-taking systems.
- Basic math skills for handling payments and calculating bills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Compensation
- Full-time, permanent role paying QAR 1,500 to QAR 1,800 per month.
Workplace
- Work location is in person at a street food stall or food truck.
