About the Role
NMC Health plc is hiring an OP Medical Coder to assign accurate ICD-10/CPT/HCPCS/DRG codes for diagnoses and procedures. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Allied Health Sciences, at least 2 years of coding experience, and a valid CCA or CPC certification.

Responsibilities
- Check and sequence the most accurate ICD 9/ICD 10 CM/CPT/HCPCS/DRG/other codes for diagnoses and procedures
- Abstract all necessary information from health records to identify secondary complications and co morbid conditions
- Evaluate the record for documentation consistency and adequacy
- Ensure final diagnosis accurately reflects care and treatment rendered
- Compute and assign correct DRG coding for all inpatient cases
- Provide training and guidance to other coders/Medical Records Technicians
- Analyze doctors’ documentation to ensure appropriate E&M levels are assigned using correct CPT code
- Ensure coding is per HAAD guidelines and regulations
- Provide feedback to doctors regarding coding errors or oversights
- Constantly update to latest coding versions and HAAD coding directives
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Allied Health Sciences or related areas
- At least 2 years of coding experience
- Valid Certified Coding Associate (CCA) certification from AHIMA or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification from AAPC
