Responsibilities
- Provide specialist Occupational Therapy interventions to adult and paediatric patients in a home care setting
- Manage a caseload of patients with complex needs using evidence based and client centered principles
- Supervise and appraise less experienced therapists
- Participate in multi disciplinary rehabilitation team meetings
- Contribute to education programs for residents, relatives, and staff
- Participate in continuing education and courses updating Occupational therapy techniques
- Ensure all adverse clinical events are recorded and reported
- Identify and report hazards in the workplace
- Assess client’s needs for specific equipment and adaptations
- Provide emotional support to clients and their families
Requirements
- Valid DOH License / Passed as Occupational Therapist
- Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited University
- Minimum 2 years’ experience of practice in Occupational Therapy in a Hospital/Rehabilitation set up
- Active License/Registration from Home country to practice Occupational Therapy
- Excellent command of oral and written English
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Sound computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

Job Overview
- Provide evaluation and treatment to patients of all ages with speech, language, cognitive communicative, voice and swallowing disorders.
- Assume delegated responsibility for delivering clinical governance and service development.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist Occupational Therapy interventions to adult and paediatric patients within chronic, specialist rehabilitation home care setting.
- Manage a caseload of patients with complex needs using evidence based and client centered principles.
- Supervise less experienced therapists with regular supervision and Performance Management appraisals.
- Work as a professional member of a multi disciplinary rehabilitation team and actively participate in team meetings.
- Effectively communicate with staff members, health professionals, clients and family.
- Contribute to and participate in education programs for residents, relatives and staff.
- Participate in continuing education and courses updating Occupational therapy techniques.
- Ensure all adverse clinical events are recorded and reported.
- Assist in the on going maintenance of a safe work place.
- Identify and report hazards in the workplace.
- Assess client’s needs for specific equipment and adaptations.
- Provide emotional support to client and cares/family.
Qualifications & Experience
- Valid DOH License /Passed as Occupation Therapist.
- Bachelors/ Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited University.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience of practice in Occupational Therapy in a Hospital/Rehabilitation set up.
- Active License/Registration from Home country to practice Occupational Therapy.
- Excellent command of oral and written English. Arabic language advantageous/desirable but not essential.
- Ability to work in cordial conditions in group practice in a hospital set up and as a member of a team.
- Knowledge of the range and type of services available for aged/disabled person.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Sound computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Research / Training / Development
- Maintain highly specialized professional knowledge and skills.
- Develop and maintain highly specialist knowledge and skills with regard to adults and elders with physical disabilities.
- Participate in educational courses/seminars relevant to the service needs.
- Participate in staff and service development through attendance at service meetings and in service training sessions.
- Initiate research and evaluation projects relating to the development of the service.
