Responsibilities
- Integrate new log sources into the SIEM, including network, endpoint, identity, and cloud telemetry
- Facilitate onboarding of systems, assets, and log streams into the MDR platform
- Create and maintain field extractions and parsing logic for log normalization
- Develop scripts and automation tools for onboarding, data transformation, and health monitoring
- Apply security best practices to harden systems involved in log collection
- Ensure integrity, completeness, and performance of ingested log data through validation
- Contribute to design of scalable data pipelines for high throughput ingestion
- Continuously tune ingestion and parsing processes to reduce noise and improve relevance
- Collaborate with SOC and threat detection teams to support detections and investigations
- Stay current on logging trends and automation frameworks

Role Overview
- Seeking an MSS Lead Engineer with specialized expertise in log onboarding, parsing, and data engineering within a SIEM environment.

Core Responsibilities
- Log Source Onboarding: Integrate new log sources into the SIEM, including network, endpoint, identity, and cloud telemetry.
- MDR Onboarding Support: Facilitate onboarding of systems, assets, and log streams into the MDR platform.
- Parsing & Normalization: Create and maintain field extractions and parsing logic to ensure logs are properly structured and normalized.
- Automation & Scripting: Develop scripts and automation tools to streamline onboarding, data transformation, health monitoring, and alert enrichment.
- System Hardening: Apply security best practices to harden systems involved in log collection.
- Validation & Quality Assurance: Ensure integrity, completeness, and performance of ingested log data through automated validation.
- Architecture & Pipeline Design: Contribute to design of scalable and resilient data pipelines.
- Maintenance & Optimization: Continuously tune ingestion and parsing processes to reduce noise and improve relevance.
- Security Use Case Support: Collaborate with SOC and threat detection teams to ensure collected data supports detections.
- Continuous Enhancement: Stay current on logging trends, automation frameworks, and detection engineering techniques.
