About the Role
Parker Connect is seeking an experienced Senior Physical Commodity Trader to build and scale a copper trading desk in Dubai. The role involves originating, structuring, and executing physical copper transactions across African supply chains and international markets.

Responsibilities
- Identify and secure physical copper and mineral products from producers, mines, and suppliers across Africa
- Structure and negotiate purchase and sale agreements with international traders, smelters, and end users
- Negotiate LME linked pricing, premiums, discounts, and commercial terms
- Manage full transaction lifecycle including logistics, warehousing, inspection, shipping, and cross border delivery
- Arrange and manage letters of credit, documentary collections, and structured commodity finance facilities
- Monitor and manage counterparty, quality, delivery, and pricing risks
- Build and maintain long term offtake and supply relationships with producers and international buyers
Requirements
- Minimum 5–7 years of direct experience trading physical commodities (copper mandatory)
- Demonstrable experience in sourcing, contract negotiation, and logistics related to copper
- Established relationships with copper producers, suppliers, traders, smelters, and international buyers
- Strong understanding of LME linked pricing, Incoterms, letters of credit, shipping, and commodity risk management
- Experience trading across African and international markets is highly advantageous

Role Overview
- We are looking for two seasoned Physical Commodity Traders to join a growing team in Dubai.
- You will be responsible for originating, structuring, and executing physical copper transactions (including concentrates, cathodes, and blister copper).
- This role requires a hands on professional with a deep understanding of the African supply chain and international off take markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Origination & Sourcing: Identify and secure physical copper and mineral products directly from producers, mines, processors, and approved suppliers across Africa.
- Trading & Execution: Structure and negotiate purchase and sale agreements with international traders, smelters, manufacturers, and end users.
- Pricing Strategy: Negotiate LME linked pricing, premiums, discounts, and commercial terms.
- Logistics Coordination: Manage the full transaction lifecycle including coordinating logistics, warehousing, inspection, shipping, and cross border delivery.
- Trade Finance: Arrange and manage letters of credit, documentary collections, and structured commodity finance facilities.
- Risk Management: Monitor and manage counterparty, quality, delivery, and pricing risks effectively.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain long term offtake and supply relationships with producers and international buyers.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5–7 years of direct experience trading physical commodities (copper is mandatory).
- Demonstrable experience in sourcing, contract negotiation, and logistics specifically related to copper.
- Established and verifiable relationships with copper producers, suppliers, traders, smelters, and international buyers.
- Strong understanding of LME linked pricing, Incoterms, letters of credit, shipping, and commodity risk management.
- Experience trading across African and international markets is highly advantageous.
- A self starter with the ability to originate and independently close profitable transactions.
