About the Role
North Oil Company Qatar seeks a Mechanical Supervisor to lead mechanical maintenance and integrity activities across Al Shaheen offshore facilities. The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and 10+ years of O&G experience, overseeing a team of technicians and ensuring asset reliability.

Responsibilities
- Supervise preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of all mechanical static and rotating equipment
- Act as Performing Authority to ensure all mechanical work is carried out in accordance with Permit to Work process
- Coordinate personnel and logistics during maintenance and repair work
- Ensure mechanical maintenance backlog is maintained within Company targets
- Provide field input to modifications, technical upgrades and improvements
- Participate in Daily Permit Meeting and ensure teams compliance with company requirements
- Provide direction, coaching and support to team members
- Act as Emergency Response Team Member as per HSE training matrix
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years experience in O&G production operations or mechanical systems in similar industry
- Thorough understanding of industry process safety guidelines and procedures
- Strong leadership, communication and analytical skills
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Computer literate

Situation in Organization
- Reports to Operations Team Lead (N+1) and Offshore Installation Manager (N+2)
- Direct Subordinates: Mechanical Technicians and Rotating Equipment Technicians
Accountabilities
- Leading a team of Technicians to support safe delivery of approximately 65,000 bopd
- Act as Performing Authority to ensure all mechanical work is carried out in accordance with Permit to Work process
- Ensuring timely liquidation of all planned and corrective maintenance activities for mechanical discipline
- Providing technical input to stakeholders for campaign and project scopes
Activities
- Coordinate mechanical maintenance and repairs of static and rotating equipment, turbines and compressors
- Ensure inspections are carried out following preventive maintenance program
- Ensure any failure or emergency that may interrupt normal operations is prevented or corrected
- Create SAP work orders to ensure materials and estimated work hours are correct
- Coordinate personnel and logistics during maintenance and repair work
- Ensure mechanical maintenance backlog is maintained within Company targets
- Provide field input to modifications, technical upgrades and improvements
- Ensure safe delivery of core business through active management of maintenance activities
- Provide Operating Authority with feedback to improve business performance
- Participate in Daily Permit Meeting and ensure teams compliance
- Provide direction, coaching and support to team members
- Motivate and inspire staff to drive performance culture
Maintenance & Integrity (M&I)
- Supervise preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of all mechanical static and rotating equipment
- Troubleshoot upsets and conduct root cause analysis (5 Why’s) for reliability and integrity
- Review and optimize Preventive Maintenance (PPM) tasks and frequencies in SAP
- Manage deferrals, backlog, and work prioritization with Planning and Asset Integrity teams
- Support development and implementation of improved M&I methodologies
Expansion Projects, Drilling and Shutdowns
- Provide mechanical supervision and support for all Shutdowns, modifications, and new installation scopes
- Participate in pre commissioning, commissioning, and handover of new mechanical systems
- Ensure seamless integration between project and maintenance teams
Safety and Compliance
- Lead by example in promoting strong safety culture
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety observations, and job safety analyses prior to work execution
- Enforce strict adherence to isolation, permit to work, and isolation procedures
- Maintain state of readiness to respond to any situation as key member of Emergency Command Centre
Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise and develop an expanding team of mechanical technicians and contractor personnel
- Conduct technical coaching, competency assessments, and performance reviews
- Demonstrate leadership when managing contractors, specialist Vendors and Field Service Representatives
Qualifications & Experience Required
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering field or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years experience in O&G production operations or mechanical systems in similar industry
- Thorough understanding and application of industry process safety guidelines and procedures
- Ability to set and implement operational objectives, drive performance and foster a performance culture
- Highly motivated, flexible in approach and with a proactive mindset
- Ability to work with large teams in a complex and multicultural environment
- Strong leadership, communication and analytical skills
- Fluent in written and spoken English
