Responsibilities
- Coordinate logistics, mechanical maintenance and repairs of equipment on the platform to ensure normal operation
- Ensure inspections are carried out following the preventive maintenance program
- Ensure that any failure or emergency that may interrupt normal operations is prevented or corrected
- Create SAP work orders to ensure all materials are added and estimated work hours are correct
- Coordinate personnel and logistics during maintenance and repair work
- Ensure mechanical maintenance backlog is maintained within Company targets
- Provide field input to modifications, technical upgrades and improvements
- Ensure safe delivery of core business through active management of maintenance activities
- Participate in Daily Permit Meeting and ensure teams strict compliance with company requirements
- Provide direction, coaching and support to team members to ensure targets are met
- Act as an Emergency Response Team Member as per HSE training matrix
- Supervise preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of all mechanical static and rotating equipment
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years' experience in O&G production operations or mechanical systems in similar industry
- Thorough understanding and application of industry process safety guidelines and procedures
- Ability to set and implement operational objectives, drive performance and foster a performance culture
- Highly motivated, flexible in approach and with a proactive mindset
- Ability to work with large teams in a complex and multicultural environment
- Strong leadership, communication and analytical skills
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Computer literate
- Certifications: Flange Management, Basic Firefighting, Basic Cause Tree Analysis, Oil Spill Principles and Management Level 1, Health and Industrial Hygiene

Job Purpose
- NOC Offshore Field: A – Site Al Shaheen Field
- Staff, Contractors & Vendors: 8+ staff/contractors and avg. 20 vendors per year
- Avg. Permits Raised Per Week: 40
- Reporting to OTL, OIM, and OC Team
Context and Environment
- The Mechanical Supervisor is the offshore owner of key business and safety critical mechanical systems.
- A Site is located approximately 80km NE of Qatar in the Arabian Gulf in an offshore environment.
- The position is offshore based – on a rotational scheme.
Activities
- Coordinate logistics, mechanical maintenance and repairs of equipment located on the platform.
- Ensure inspections are carried out following the preventive maintenance program.
- Ensure that any failure or emergency that may interrupt normal operations is prevented or corrected.
- Create SAP work orders to ensure all materials are added and estimated work hours are correct.
- Coordinate personnel and logistics during maintenance and repair work.
- Ensure mechanical maintenance backlog is maintained within Company targets.
- Provide field input to modifications, technical upgrades and improvements.
- Ensure safe delivery of core business through active management of maintenance activities.
- Provide Operating Authority with feedback to improve business performance.
- Participate in the Daily Permit Meeting and ensure teams strict compliance.
- Provide direction, coaching and support to team members.
- Motivate and inspire staff in the execution of their responsibilities.
Maintenance & Integrity (M&I)
- Supervise preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of all mechanical static and rotating equipment.
- Troubleshoot upsets and conduct root cause analysis (5 Why’s) to ensure reliability and integrity.
- Review and optimize Preventive Maintenance (PPM) tasks and frequencies in SAP.
- Manage deferrals, backlog, and work prioritization in coordination with Planning and Asset Integrity teams.
- Support the development and implementation of improved M&I methodologies.
Expansion Projects, Drilling and Shutdowns
- Provide mechanical supervision and support for all Shutdowns, modifications, and new installation scopes.
- Participate in pre commissioning, commissioning, and handover of new mechanical systems and equipment.
- Ensure seamless integration between project and maintenance teams.
Safety and Compliance
- Lead by example in promoting a strong safety culture.
- Conduct toolbox talks (TBT), safety observations (DTSI), and job safety analyses.
- Enforce strict adherence to isolation, permit to work, and isolation procedures (eCoW).
- Encourage and empower IF+ Champions within the department.
- Maintain a state of readiness to respond to any situation as key member of Emergency Command Centre.
Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise and develop an expanding team of mechanical technicians and contractor personnel.
- Conduct technical coaching, competency assessments, and performance reviews.
- Demonstrate leadership when managing contractors, specialist Vendors and Field Service Representatives.
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering field or equivalent
Certification
- Flange Management
- Basic Firefighting
- Basic Cause Tree Analysis
- Oil Spill Principles and Management Level 1
- Health and Industrial Hygiene
Experience
