Job Overview

RITS is seeking an experienced mechanic for hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and oilfield power equipment.

The role is full-time in Qatar and requires hands-on diagnosis and safe, efficient equipment fault resolution.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on mechanical maintenance experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience with hydraulic and pneumatic power equipment.
  • Diploma, ITI, or trade certificate in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, automotive, industrial maintenance, or a related discipline.
  • Oil and gas or industrial equipment maintenance experience is preferred.
  • Ability to interpret hydraulic and pneumatic circuit diagrams, schematics, and OEM manuals.

Equipment Maintenance

  • Inspect, service, repair, and overhaul hydraulic power units, pumps, motors, cylinders, valves, manifolds, accumulators, hoses, fittings, and filtration systems.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot compressors, air motors, actuators, regulators, lubricators, valves, air preparation units, tubing, and pneumatic circuits.
  • Diagnose and repair oilfield power equipment, including power packs, power tongs, casing running tools, bucking units, handling equipment, winches, and workshop machinery.

Troubleshooting and Testing

  • Diagnose pressure loss, leakage, overheating, contamination, abnormal noise, slow operation, component failure, and control-system malfunctions.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, condition checks, oil and filter changes, pressure testing, hose inspections, lubrication, and functional testing.
  • Dismantle, inspect, measure, repair, replace, reassemble, and test components using correct tolerances, cleanliness, and OEM procedures.
  • Conduct pressure, leakage, load, functional, and safety tests before releasing equipment to operations.

Support and Documentation

  • Identify and verify spare parts using drawings, manuals, and component markings.
  • Complete inspection reports, maintenance checklists, breakdown reports, parts records, repair histories, and equipment status updates.
  • Provide workshop and field support during equipment preparation, mobilization, rig-up, operations, breakdown response, and demobilization.
  • Support root-cause analysis and reliability improvements.

General Responsibilities

  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in good condition.
  • Participate in toolbox talks, audits, and safety activities.
  • Follow company HSE policies and procedures and perform other duties assigned by operations management.
