Role overview

Teaching and learning

• Plan and deliver structured, engaging lessons that meet diverse learner needs.
• Use strategies promoting inquiry, creativity, independence, critical thinking, collaboration, and student agency.
• Maintain high expectations for learning, behavior, and personal responsibility.
• Create a safe, inclusive, supportive classroom and manage behavior in line with school policies.
• Integrate technology to enhance learning and digital skills.

Curriculum and assessment

• Collaborate on grade-level programs and progression of skills.
• Review curriculum documents, units, and learning resources.
• Use formative and summative assessment to monitor progress and inform instruction.
• Maintain attainment, progress, and pastoral records and provide constructive feedback.
• Contribute to reports, portfolios, parent communication, and targeted interventions.

Inclusion and engagement

• Differentiate instruction for EAL, SEN, and high-achieving students.
• Work with inclusion, counseling, pastoral, and teaching teams to support students.
• Build positive relationships with parents and participate in meetings, workshops, and events.
• Support transitions, extracurricular programs, community initiatives, and international learning opportunities.

Professional duties

• Participate in team meetings, planning sessions, professional learning communities, coaching, and appraisal.
• Contribute to whole-school initiatives, interdisciplinary projects, curriculum development, and continuous improvement.
• Uphold safeguarding, child protection, health, and safety policies and complete mandatory training.
• Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, attendance, punctuality, and sound judgment.

Position requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field is required.
• A primary teaching qualification and teaching certification recognized by Qatar MoEHE are required.
• Child Protection and Safeguarding training is required, or must be completed upon employment.
• At least three years of successful primary teaching experience is required.
• International or multicultural school experience is preferred.
