Purpose of Role

Teaching and Assessment

• Develop curriculum and lesson plans aligned with subject standards and assessment objectives.
• Use differentiated instruction, varied resources, technology, and student-led learning to engage students.
• Assess and track learning, adapt instruction, and provide timely, constructive, and targeted feedback.
• Develop higher-order thinking, metacognition, critical analysis, problem-solving, resilience, and growth mindset.

Classroom and Student Well-being

• Maintain clear behaviour expectations and a safe, respectful, inclusive classroom environment.
• Address individual student needs and support academic, personal, emotional, and pastoral development.
• Respond appropriately to concerns involving bullying, discrimination, mental health, safeguarding, and student welfare.

Communication and Collaboration

• Communicate regularly with students, parents, colleagues, and relevant external stakeholders about progress and concerns.
• Use email, the school portal, Class Dojo, iSams, and CPOMS to share resources, assignments, feedback, and updates.
• Collaborate with colleagues and support services to align curriculum, share practices, and address student needs.

Professional Development

• Stay current with curriculum developments, educational research, examination expectations, and effective teaching practices.
• Participate in professional development, quality assurance, self-assessment, peer observation, and school improvement.
• Complete assigned actions and maintain professional conduct, reliability, punctuality, and responsibility.

School Community and Values

• Promote the school’s mission, MARK values, Qatari national values, cultural understanding, and inclusive practice.
• Participate in school events, assemblies, sports days, cultural activities, clubs, competitions, field trips, and staff meetings.
• Act as a professional ambassador for the school and contribute to the wider educational community.

Education and Certification

• Bachelor’s degree in teaching from an accredited institution.
• Post Graduate Certificate in Education.
• Degree subject on the approved Qatar Ministry of Education list.
• Required teaching certification for Qatar MOEHE and compliance with school teacher education requirements.
• Child Care and Protection qualification or knowledge.

Skills and Knowledge

• English is mandatory, with excellent spoken and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of assessment methods, curriculum developments, teaching theory, classroom organization, and learning strategies.
• Competence with computer applications, including word processing and spreadsheet tools.
• Ability to manage behaviour, organize work, meet deadlines, collaborate, and support safeguarding and student welfare.
