Role Overview
AFL Teacher in the Academic department reporting to the Head of Arabic.
The role supports IB Arabic B and Ab students within IB Group 2.
The position is permanent.
Learning and Teaching
- Set high expectations that inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils.
- Establish a safe and stimulating environment rooted in mutual respect.
- Plan and deliver well-structured lessons using effective teaching methods and lesson time.
- Adapt teaching and differentiate approaches to support the strengths and needs of all pupils.
- Use formative and summative assessment, data, marking, and feedback to secure pupil progress.
- Manage classroom behaviour through clear routines, fair discipline, praise, sanctions, and rewards.
Curriculum and Professional Duties
- Set homework and plan activities that consolidate and extend pupil learning.
- Contribute to curriculum design, schemes of work, department resources, and extracurricular activities.
- Develop effective relationships with colleagues, deploy support staff, and engage in professional development.
- Communicate with parents regarding pupils' achievements and well-being.
- Complete other reasonable teacher duties and contribute to the wider life and ethos of the school.
