Nibras is seeking a qualified Homeroom Teacher to join its expanding team immediately.
The role is responsible for pupil safety, meaningful learning experiences, strong progress, and compliance with school policies and conduct standards.
Teaching and Learning
- Set high expectations, establish a safe learning environment, and motivate pupils to achieve challenging goals.
- Plan and teach well-structured lessons, schemes of work, homework, and activities that extend learning.
- Adapt teaching to individual strengths, needs, development stages, and learning styles.
- Promote subject knowledge, literacy, intellectual curiosity, and a love of learning.
- Use ICT and new technologies to enhance teaching and learning.
Assessment and Behavior
- Assess, record, and report student development, progress, and attainment.
- Use formative and summative assessment, relevant data, targets, feedback, and marking to support progress.
- Maintain clear classroom rules and routines and manage behavior fairly and consistently.
- Support students with special educational needs, high ability, English as an additional language, and disabilities.
Professional Contribution
- Communicate regularly and professionally with parents about student attainment and progress.
- Contribute to curriculum development, department discussions, school improvement, and best-practice sharing.
- Plan or support after-school activities, school trips, community events, and wider school development.
- Participate in continuing professional development and take accountability for personal development.
- Embed UAE heritage and culture within the curriculum.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor degree in education, or another bachelor degree with PGCE, diploma, or Master in Education.
- At least two years of school-based teaching experience.
- Outstanding teaching experience in American or international schools.
- Strong knowledge and experience of international or American curricula.
- Excellent spoken and written English communication.
- Classroom and behavior management capability.
- Online and classroom teaching experience.

- Collaborative teamwork, strong interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and intercultural awareness.
- Integrity, confidentiality, flexibility, creativity, and a positive can-do attitude.
- Ability to promote high standards of literacy, articulacy, and correct Standard English.
- Understanding of systematic synthetic phonics if teaching early reading.
- Understanding of appropriate teaching strategies if teaching early mathematics.

- All staff share responsibility for student safety, supervision, wellbeing, and safeguarding.
- The school expects staff to follow policies, protect students from abuse and bullying, and support an inclusive learning community.
- Post holders are subject to vetting, references, and satisfactory criminal background checks or equivalent covering the previous 10 years of employment.
