- Identify and source interior fit out materials including finishes, joinery, flooring, wall panels, ceilings, furniture, and FF&E
- Evaluate and select suppliers and subcontractors based on quality, cost, and delivery capability
- Coordinate with procurement team to ensure timely delivery of materials to site
- Maintain material inventory, tracking, and usage records
- Review and approve material submittals, samples, shop drawings, and mock ups
- Ensure all materials comply with project specifications, standards, and consultant/authority approvals
- Conduct material testing and quality verification prior to use
- Provide technical guidance on material installation, compatibility, and application methods
- Coordinate with site teams, subcontractors, QA/QC, and technical managers to resolve material related issues
- Monitor material costs and budget impact, suggesting alternatives for value engineering when required
- Maintain material registers, submittal logs, and documentation for project handover
- Prepare reports on material status, delays, or shortages
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Material Science, Architecture, Interior Design, or related field
- 4–8 years of experience in interior fit out or construction materials management
- UAE experience preferred, familiar with consultant led approvals
- Proven knowledge of fit out materials, finishes, joinery, and FF&E
- Strong knowledge of material properties, applications, and quality standards
- Good negotiation and supplier management skills
- Excellent coordination and problem solving skills
- Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD (basic for drawings), material tracking software
- Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines

About the Role
- The Material Engineer – Fit Out is responsible for managing, sourcing, and ensuring the quality of all materials used in interior fit out projects.
- The role ensures that materials meet project specifications, design intent, budget, and schedule requirements, supporting smooth execution on site.
