Responsibilities
- Update ORM Policy and enhance alignment with CMA Prudential Rules
- Standardize risk taxonomy and scoring scales
- Refresh or create risk registers for all departments
- Conduct RCSA workshops with business owners
- Produce heatmaps showing Inherent vs. Residual risk levels
- Establish KRI library with Red/Amber/Green thresholds
- Define KCI mapping to monitor critical controls
- Build/update loss database for operational losses and near misses
- Provide RCA methodology to analyze major failures
- Challenge risk scores and perform control testing
- Create semi annual operational risk dashboard for Risk Committee
- Train staff on incident reporting and register updates
Requirements
- Experience in operational risk management and consulting
- Knowledge of risk frameworks, RCSA, and KRI/KCI
- IT background preferred
- Strong analytical and communication skills

Key Responsibilities
- Update ORM Policy: review and enhance alignment with CMA Prudential Rules (Pillar 2/3).
- Risk Taxonomy: Standardize risk categories (Fraud, ICT, Process, Legal) and scoring scales (1 5).
- Risk Registers: Refresh or create registers for all departments.
- Workshops: Conduct sessions with business owners to identify risks and map existing controls.
- Heatmaps: Produce visual 5x5 matrices showing Inherent vs. Residual risk levels.
- KRI Library: Establish Key Risk Indicators with specific Red/Amber/Green thresholds.
- KCI Mapping: Define Key Control Indicators to monitor if critical controls are actually working.
- Loss Database: Build/update a log for tracking operational losses and near misses.
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Provide a methodology to analyze why major failures occurred and how to fix them.
- Challenge Sessions: Consultant acts as the 2nd Line to challenge and verify risk scores.
- Control Testing: Sample testing to prove controls exist and are effective.
- Back testing: Cross check registers against Incident Log to ensure past failures are captured as risks.
Additional Responsibilities
- Risk Reporting: Create a concise semi annually operational risk dashboard for the Risk Committee.
- Capacity Building: Train staff on how to report incidents and update their own registers moving forward.
