Key Responsibilities
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual VAT compliance for a diverse client portfolio.
- Conduct VAT health checks and prepare reports with findings and recommendations.
- Prepare VAT advisory notes, technical memos, clarifications, and other client deliverables.
- Maintain VAT return workings and documentation to support tax filings.
- Provide ad-hoc tax advisory services and handle reconsideration applications, penalty waiver requests, and TDRC representations.
- Operate the FTA portal for VAT registrations, amendments, voluntary disclosures, and technical clarifications.
- Analyze ESR applicability and assist with ESR notifications and reports.
- Review and guide senior and junior associates, coordinate client deliverables, and conduct tax law training.
- Stay current with regulatory changes, tax rulings, and FTA guidelines.
Key Requirements
- CA, ACCA, CPA, or a master's degree in Tax or Finance is preferred.
- Four to six years of relevant indirect tax experience, including at least two years in a supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of UAE VAT law, FTA portal operations, ESR regulations, and practical litigation experience.
- Proficiency in Excel, FAF workings, and general tax software or portals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Strong team management, review, delegation, and client relationship skills.
Client Growth and Relationships
- Identify opportunities for new client acquisition and cross-selling of services.
- Assist with proposals and engagement letters for prospective clients.
- Build and maintain relationships with existing and potential clients.
