About the Role
ABYAT seeks a Logistics Manager for its Qatar branch to oversee inventory management, warehousing, transportation, and distribution. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement logistics strategies, policies, and procedures
- Manage inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing excess inventory and carrying costs
- Oversee warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, and distribution of goods
- Coordinate transportation activities, including route planning, carrier selection, and freight negotiation
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods
- Implement quality control measures to ensure products meet standards
- Ensure compliance with health and safety, environmental, and customs regulations
- Monitor and control logistics costs to achieve budgetary targets
- Lead and manage a team of logistics professionals
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement measures
- Prepare and present regular reports on logistics performance
- Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless coordination
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics management, preferably in retail or manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of logistics processes, regulations, and best practices
- Proficiency in logistics software, such as ERP systems and warehouse management systems
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- Familiarity with government electronic sites related to logistics and transportation
- Knowledge of customs clearance processes and regulations
- Experience in managing cross functional teams and collaborating with external partners
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
