About the Role
Hitachi Energy is looking for a Local Business Unit Controller to act as a business partner for project managers in the UAE market. You will oversee financial and commercial aspects of projects, including tender reviews, project execution, monitoring, and compliance.

Responsibilities
- Act as business partner to project managers, responsible for financial and commercial matters
- Review tenders and ensure correct financial, commercial, and tax calculations
- Prepare project financial execution plans covering revenue recognition, billing, cash flow, etc.
- Guide and validate project invoices, manage currency risk, tax issues, bonds, and guarantees
- Establish project governance and participate in opportunity/risk identification
- Prepare monthly project reviews jointly with project manager
- Deliver monthly closings, forecasts, budgets, and financial packages
- Monitor KPIs to optimize cost structures and improve productivity
- Ensure compliance with corporate governance, internal controls, and directives
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting or equivalent
- Solid finance background with exposure to project business
- Experience with SAP
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under tight deadlines
- Excellent collaboration and cross functional team skills
- Analytical and problem solving mindset
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written)

The Opportunity
- Act as business partner to the Local Domestic Sales Unit Project Manager/Project Managers.
- Responsible for all financial and commercial matters and actively driving project performance.
- Responsible for the DSU project Portfolio in UAE market.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Tender stage: Reviews and joint responsibility with Tender Manager on financial, commercial and tax aspects.
- Ensures tender calculation is completed correctly, prepares cash flow and exposure curve.
- Participates or provides input during negotiations on contractual terms and conditions.
- Participates and provides input in local risk review process.
- Project Execution: Prepare a Project Financial Execution Plan covering all financial, commercial and tax aspects.
- Responsible for correctness of project balance sheet and income statement, cash flow, and monthly/quarterly forecast.
- Guide and Validate project invoice, manages currency risk, tax issues, bonds and guarantees, Revenues and GM contribution.
- Monitoring and review: Establishes project governance process, participates in opportunity/risk identification.
- Drives, co ordinates and prepares monthly project reviews jointly with the Project Manager.
- Responsible for Financial Reporting: Deliver monthly closings, forecasts, budgets and full financial packages.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to support operational decision making, monitor KPIs.
- Perform quality checks on reporting data, analytical reviews of major fluctuations and FX impacts.
Your Background
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, or equivalent with solid finance background.
- Professional Accounting qualification will be a plus.
- Experience in Finance with exposure to Project Business.
- Experience of SAP.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under tight deadlines.
- Excellent collaboration and work with cross functional and cross cultural team.
- Analytical and problem solving mindset.
- Proficiency in both spoken & written English is required.
