Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver library information literacy sessions to students
- Select and order new books appropriate to each section and grade level
- Liaise with teachers to distribute topic related resources to classrooms
- Catalog all resources into the automated library system using Dewey system
- Maintain the library database and update records of students and teachers
- Follow up overdue books and receive money for lost or damaged books
- Maintain an attractive library environment for reading and independent study
- Promote reading through attractive displays and recommend books to students
- Arrange author visits and book fairs
- Run the Book Club for student book orders
Requirements
- Diploma in Library studies / information or Bachelor of Library information / studies
- 1 – 2 years of experience as a Librarian
- Fluent English communication skills, written and oral
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent office management skills

Job Description
- Aldar Education is seeking an outstanding Librarian (UAE National) for Bateen World Academy in Abu Dhabi for immediate start.
About Bateen World Academy
- Bateen World Academy is an Outstanding rated ADEK International school located in Abu Dhabi, established in 2011.
- The school offers IB PYP, IB DP, IB Certificate pathway, IB CP, and BTEC qualifications.
Main Duties
- Developing and delivering library information literacy sessions
- Selecting and ordering new books appropriate to each section / Grade level

- Cataloguing all resources into the automated library system, Destiny Follett
- Maintaining the library database
- Following up overdue books from both students and teachers

Minimum Qualifications
- Diploma in Library studies / information or Bachelor of Library information / studies

- Fluent English communication skills, written and oral
- Arabic speaker is preferable
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent office management skills
