Learning Design Specialist

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with faculty and subject matter experts to design and develop engaging courses.
• Apply instructional design models to create course structures, learning outcomes, materials, and assessments.
• Design and deliver workshops, seminars, and short courses for faculty on pedagogy, facilitation, learning design, assessment, educational technology, and digital tools.
• Provide individual consultations and coaching on teaching practices and course development.
• Review and enhance courses for best-practice, accreditation, and inclusive teaching alignment.
• Collect and analyze faculty and student feedback to support continuous improvement.
• Monitor emerging trends and pilot approaches in instructional design and higher education teaching innovation.
• Contribute to the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning through presentations and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with librarians, multimedia specialists, and IT teams on integrated learning experiences.
• Manage multiple projects and share templates, frameworks, and best practices.

Qualifications and Experience

• Master's degree in Education, Educational Technology, Instructional Design, or a related field.
• At least five years of learning design and faculty development experience within higher education.
• Experience designing and facilitating faculty professional development in both Arabic and English.
• In-depth knowledge of instructional design models, adult learning principles, and pedagogical frameworks.
• Experience with quality assurance frameworks such as Quality Matters.
• Experience designing competency-based and/or experiential learning programs.
