Turner & Townsend is recruiting Lead or Senior Estimators with proven experience in the rail sector.
Support clients as an embedded resource and contribute to the wider Turner & Townsend Estimating Hub.
Produce estimating and commercial intelligence outputs to support client decision-making.
Client outputs
- Produce estimates and cost plans ranging from order-of-magnitude estimates to detailed first-principles estimates.
- Provide estimating and cost planning assurance.
- Support estimating and cost planning for major programme setup.
- Perform data analysis and benchmarking.
Estimator responsibilities
- Produce accurate and comprehensive estimates and cost plans efficiently.
- Control and manage estimating and cost planning processes at project level.
- Produce estimates and cost plans independently without management or supervision.
- Gather and share estimating and cost planning data.
- Develop and promote estimating and cost planning good practice.
- Support departmental objectives and provide best-practice advice in the technical area.
Qualifications and experience
- High-standard qualification or equivalent professional experience in cost planning, estimating, or quantity surveying.
- Proven relevant experience in the rail sector.
- Membership of a relevant professional body with chartered status or progress toward chartered status.
- Detailed knowledge of cost planning and estimating processes and techniques.
- Successful estimating or quantity surveying experience in a large project environment.
- Previous experience with estimating software packages.
