Role Overview

The Lead Engineer owns technical direction for complex products and systems and helps raise the engineering bar across the team.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role involving system design, coding, code review, difficult problem solving, mentoring, and major initiatives from idea to production.

What You Will Own

  • Lead technical design and execution for major products, features, and engineering initiatives.
  • Design scalable systems across backend, frontend, APIs, databases, and infrastructure.
  • Remain hands-on through coding, prototyping, reviews, debugging, and production problem solving.
  • Set standards for quality, testing, security, observability, and reliability.
  • Mentor engineers, improve tooling and automation, and collaborate across engineering, product, design, and AI.
  • Monitor production, investigate incidents, resolve root causes, and improve systems after release.

What We Are Looking For

  • Significant experience building and shipping production systems.
  • Deep expertise in at least one of backend, frontend, distributed systems, APIs, databases, or cloud infrastructure.
  • Strong system design, architecture, coding, debugging, and production engineering skills.
  • Experience leading major engineering projects or providing technical leadership to other engineers.
  • Ability to communicate technical decisions, influence teams, connect engineering to business outcomes, and work through ambiguity.
  • Strong judgment about trade-offs and strong English communication skills.

Location and Work Arrangement

  • This is a hybrid role requiring work from the local office at least three days per week.
  • The remaining days offer flexibility to work remotely.
  • Candidates should be based in or able to work from the location where the role is advertised.

Interview Process

  • The process includes an online assessment or practical task, a technical interview, and a CEO or final round.
  • The company aims to complete the process and make an offer within one week from the start for strong candidates.
