Lead Civil Engineer

Role Overview

Civil Construction Planning and Execution

• Develop, review, and implement construction strategies, methodologies, and work sequences for civil works.
• Monitor construction progress and compliance with drawings, specifications, and schedules.
• Optimize manpower, equipment, and resources across project sites.
• Conduct site inspections and resolve complex construction challenges.

Technical Engineering Leadership

• Guide and mentor civil engineers, site engineers, and supervisors.
• Review and approve drawings, calculations, and design modifications.
• Ensure constructability and develop practical field solutions.
• Drive value engineering to optimize quality, cost, and delivery timelines.

Quality, Safety, and Compliance

• Ensure civil works meet approved quality standards and project requirements.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, approvals, NCR reviews, and corrective actions with QA/QC teams.
• Champion HSE policies, conduct risk assessments and safety audits, and foster a strong safety culture.

Stakeholder Management and Reporting

• Coordinate with planning, procurement, engineering, QA/QC, HSE, clients, consultants, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
• Participate in technical meetings, inspections, and progress reviews.
• Prepare progress reports and maintain inspection, quality, NCR, and corrective action records.
• Support handover through as-built documentation and closeout packages.

Risk Management

• Identify and mitigate technical, quality, safety, and schedule risks.
• Develop solutions to minimize delays and cost overruns and support successful project delivery.

Experience and Education

• Minimum 10 years of engineering and construction experience in Oil and Gas, EPC, Power, Marine, Industrial Plants, or Infrastructure sectors.
• Minimum five years in a leadership role managing multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; a Master's degree is preferred.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong expertise in civil and structural engineering, construction methodologies, design review, project delivery, quality management, and HSE compliance.
• Proficiency in STAAD Pro, AutoCAD, Primavera P6, BIM software, and other civil engineering or project management tools.
• Strong leadership, people management, analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
• Understanding of international engineering codes, standards, and regulations.
