Lab Technician

Desert Man Transporting and Contracting LLC is looking for an experienced Lab Technician to join our team in Abu Dhabi.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out laboratory and field testing of construction materials for our civil construction and infrastructure projects, ensuring that materials meet project specifications and applicable standards.

• Conduct laboratory and field tests on soil, aggregates, concrete, asphalt and other construction materials.
• Collect, prepare, label and test material samples from project sites.
• Perform soil testing including sieve analysis, moisture content, compaction, density and CBR tests.
• Conduct aggregate and road-base material testing as required.
• Carry out concrete sampling, slump testing, cube preparation and compressive strength testing.
• Assist with asphalt and bituminous material testing when required.
• Record and maintain accurate test results, laboratory records and reports.
• Ensure testing is carried out according to approved procedures, project specifications and applicable standards.
• Operate, clean and maintain laboratory testing equipment.
• Monitor equipment calibration and report any issues to the QA/QC team.
• Assist QA/QC Engineers with material inspections, sampling and quality-control activities.
• Coordinate with site engineers and supervisors regarding testing requirements and schedules.
• Report any non-conforming or abnormal test results to the concerned engineer or supervisor.
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness, organization and safe working conditions.
• Follow company HSE and quality-control procedures at all times.
