Deputy Project Manager

Desert Man Transporting & Contracting LLC (DMTC) is seeking an experienced Deputy Project Manager to support the overall management and successful delivery of civil, utilities and infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in infrastructure and utilities construction, including roads, pipelines, stormwater/drainage, sewerage, underground services, earthworks, excavation, backfilling and associated civil works.

The Deputy Project Manager will work closely with the Project Manager and construction teams to ensure effective project planning, execution, coordination, quality, safety, cost control and timely completion.

• Support the Project Manager in the overall planning and execution of infrastructure projects.
• Coordinate construction activities across multiple work fronts and project teams.
• Monitor project progress against approved schedules, milestones and targets and project KPI's.
• Coordinate with Construction Managers, Site Superintendents, Engineers, General Foremen and subcontractors.
• Oversee execution of roads, utilities, pipelines, drainage, sewerage, earthworks and associated civil works.
• Ensure construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements and project requirements.
• Monitor manpower, equipment, materials and subcontractor resources.
• Review project progress and identify potential delays, risks and construction constraints.
• Coordinate with consultants, clients and other project stakeholders.
• Participate in project progress, technical and coordination meetings.
• Monitor quality and ensure compliance with QA/QC requirements.
• Ensure HSE requirements and site safety procedures are strictly implemented.
• Support planning and commercial teams with project progress, quantities, variations and resource information.
• Review daily, weekly and monthly progress reports.
• Assist in resolving technical, construction and coordination issues.
• Ensure proper communication between project management, engineering, planning, QA/QC, HSE and site execution teams.
• Support project handover, testing, completion and closeout activities.
• Act on behalf of the Project Manager when required.

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline preferred.
• Strong experience in civil infrastructure and utilities projects.
• Proven experience in a project management or senior construction management role.
• Strong knowledge of roads, pipelines, underground utilities, stormwater, sewerage, earthworks and associated civil works.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary construction teams and subcontractors.
• Strong understanding of project schedules, construction methodologies, quality and HSE requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication and coordination skills.
• Strong planning, reporting and problem-solving abilities.
• UAE/GCC infrastructure project experience is highly preferred.
• Experience with major infrastructure contractors, consultants or government-related projects is an advantage.
