Job Scope
- As a Kitchen Technician, you are responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of kitchen equipment and appliances in commercial kitchens, restaurants, or food service establishments.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Install, calibrate, and maintain kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, refrigerators, dishwashers, and food preparation stations.
- Conduct routine inspections, cleaning, and repairs of kitchen appliances.
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions and perform repairs or replacements.
- Respond promptly to service calls and emergency repairs.
- Implement preventive maintenance programs.
- Schedule routine maintenance tasks according to manufacturer guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Conduct safety checks and risk assessments.
- Maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors.
- Keep detailed records of maintenance activities.
- Generate maintenance reports and service logs.
Education, Qualifications and Skills
- Vocational training, certification, or apprenticeship in appliance repair, HVAC, or a related field.
- Experience in maintaining and repairing kitchen equipment, commercial appliances, or food service machinery.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, refrigeration, and mechanical principles.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
