Responsibilities
- Assist chefs with basic food preparation, including washing, peeling, cutting, and portioning ingredients
- Prepare mise en place and ensure ingredients are available for daily operations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations, storage areas, and equipment
- Ensure proper handling, labeling, and storage of food products in accordance with food safety standards
- Assist with receiving, checking, and storing deliveries
- Support kitchen staff during service periods by replenishing ingredients and supplies as needed
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and HACCP requirements
- Assist with cleaning kitchen equipment, utensils, and preparation areas
- Minimize food waste through proper handling and storage procedures
- Perform other kitchen support duties as assigned by supervisors
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, catering, or hospitality kitchen is preferred
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods
- Willingness to learn and develop within a professional kitchen environment

Position Summary
- The Kitchen Assistant supports the culinary team in food preparation, kitchen organization, and maintaining cleanliness standards.
- This role is essential in ensuring smooth kitchen operations by assisting chefs with basic food preparation tasks, maintaining hygiene standards, and ensuring ingredients and supplies are readily available during service.
