The role focuses on coffee, matcha, and specialty beverage preparation, with particular emphasis on matcha knowledge and technique.
Beverage Preparation
- Prepare coffee, matcha, and other beverages according to company standards.
- Demonstrate knowledge of matcha preparation, grades, quality, and flavor profiles.
- Whisk and prepare matcha using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Prepare matcha lattes, iced matcha, and specialty matcha beverages.
- Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portioning.
- Explain matcha products and beverages to customers when required.
Operations and Customer Service
- Operate espresso machines, grinders, blenders, and other beverage equipment safely.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the bar and equipment.
- Assist senior baristas with daily bar operations and stock preparation.
- Monitor beverage supplies and report shortages to the supervisor.
- Provide friendly and professional customer service.
- Support the team during busy periods and maintain efficient service.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a barista or in a similar role is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of matcha is highly preferred and is a main focus of the position.
- Understand matcha grades, preparation methods, and proper storage.
- Have basic knowledge of coffee preparation and espresso-based beverages.
- Have good communication and customer service skills.
- Be able to work in a fast-paced café environment.
- Have a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and good teamwork.
- Know food safety and hygiene standards.
Employment and Workplace
- The position is full time.
- Work is performed in person in Abu Dhabi.
