Role Overview

KBR is recruiting a Specialist Static and Package Equipment Engineer for a high-profile offshore development in Abu Dhabi.

The role provides specialist engineering expertise across the full project life cycle for offshore oil and gas facilities.

Job Purpose

  • Lead design, specification, review, procurement, fabrication, testing, installation, and commissioning of static and packaged equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with ADNOC standards, international codes, project specifications, HSE requirements, and schedule objectives.

Engineering and Design

  • Lead and review static equipment such as pressure vessels, columns, towers, heat exchangers, storage tanks, pig launchers, filters, separators, scrubbers, and reactor vessels.
  • Review package equipment deliverables for chemical injection, produced water, fuel gas, compressor, nitrogen, desalination, utility skid, and metering packages.
  • Prepare and review equipment datasheets, material requisitions, technical bid evaluations, technical queries, and vendor documents.
  • Ensure designs comply with ADNOC Offshore Standards, ASME, API, TEMA, NACE, ISO standards, and project specifications.

Procurement and Fabrication

  • Participate in vendor clarification meetings, evaluate proposals, review vendor drawings and manufacturing documentation, and support procurement decisions.
  • Coordinate with fabrication yards and vendors, review inspection and test plans, and witness critical factory acceptance tests and shop inspections when required.

Interfaces and Execution

  • Coordinate with process, mechanical, piping, structural, instrumentation and control, electrical, HSE, and operations teams.
  • Provide support during construction and offshore installation, review technical queries and deviations, and resolve multidisciplinary interface issues.
  • Support pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up, performance testing, mechanical completion walkdowns, and punch-list closure.

HSE and Quality

  • Ensure engineering activities follow ADNOC HSE requirements.
  • Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, design, and constructability reviews and promote safety in design and asset integrity.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from a recognized university is required.
  • A master's degree is advantageous.
  • At least 15 years of oil and gas project experience and five years in a specialist or lead engineer role are required.
  • Experience with ADNOC Offshore, Saudi Aramco, QatarEnergy, or major offshore brownfield or greenfield developments is required.
  • PMC and EPC project execution experience is required.

Technical Expertise

  • Strong working knowledge of ASME Section VIII Divisions 1 and 2, API 510, API 650, API 620, API 660, API 661, TEMA, and NACE MR0175 or ISO 15156.
  • Knowledge of pressure vessel design, package equipment engineering, offshore facilities design, materials selection, and corrosion engineering concepts.
  • Working knowledge of PV Elite, Aspen EDR, AutoCAD, SmartPlant or Aveva Engineering Systems, and Microsoft Office is required.
  • Experience with Compress is desirable.
