Role Overview

KBR is expanding its PMC team for a high-profile offshore development in Abu Dhabi.

The engineer provides specialist expertise for static and packaged equipment across design, procurement, fabrication, testing, installation, and commissioning.

The role supports compliance with ADNOC standards, international codes, project specifications, HSE requirements, and schedule objectives.

Engineering and Design

  • Lead and review designs for pressure vessels, columns, towers, heat exchangers, storage tanks, pig launchers and receivers, filters, separators, flare knockout drums, scrubbers, and reactor vessels.
  • Review and approve engineering deliverables for chemical injection, produced water treatment, fuel gas conditioning, air compressor, nitrogen generation, desalination, utility skid, and metering packages.
  • Prepare and review equipment datasheets, material requisitions, technical bid evaluations, technical queries, and vendor document reviews.

Procurement and Inspection

  • Participate in vendor technical clarification meetings and evaluate proposals for technically compliant solutions.
  • Review vendor drawings and manufacturing documentation and support procurement during bid evaluations and purchase order placement.
  • Coordinate with fabrication yards and vendors, review inspection and test plans, witness critical factory acceptance tests, and attend shop inspections when required.

Interfaces and Project Support

  • Coordinate with process, mechanical, piping, structural, instrumentation and control, electrical, HSE, and operations teams.
  • Resolve multidisciplinary design issues and interface concerns.
  • Provide support during construction, offshore installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up, performance testing, mechanical completion walkdowns, and punch-list closure.

Education and Experience

  • A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from a recognized university is required.
  • At least 15 years of oil and gas project experience and at least 5 years in a Specialist or Lead Engineer role are required.
  • Strong experience with ADNOC Offshore, Saudi Aramco, QatarEnergy, or major offshore brownfield or greenfield developments is required.
  • Experience in PMC and EPC project execution phases is required.
  • A master's degree is advantageous.

Technical Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of ASME Section VIII Divisions 1 and 2, API 510, API 650, API 620, API 660, API 661, TEMA, and NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 is required.
  • Knowledge of pressure vessel design, package equipment engineering, offshore facilities design, materials selection, and corrosion engineering concepts is required.
  • Working knowledge of PV Elite, Aspen EDR, AutoCAD, and SmartPlant or Aveva Engineering Systems is required.
  • Knowledge of Compress is desirable.

HSE and Quality

  • Ensure engineering activities comply with ADNOC HSE requirements and project specifications.
  • Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, design, and constructability reviews.
  • Promote safety in design and asset integrity principles throughout project execution.
