Job Title Lead Instrumentation And Control Engineer - Offshore Project

Job Purpose

Engineering Leadership

• Lead the Instrumentation and Control discipline team, manage deliverables and resources, and coordinate with project management and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Provide discipline leadership during FEED, detailed engineering, EPC, commissioning, and startup phases.

Instrumentation Engineering

• Review and approve instrument indexes, datasheets, hook-up and loop drawings, cable and junction box schedules, installation details, material requisitions, and technical bid evaluations.
• Select and specify pressure, temperature, flow, level, analyzer, control valve, and shutdown valve instrumentation.

Control and Automation

• Lead design and implementation of DCS, ESD, fire and gas, PLC, SCADA, and ICSS systems.
• Ensure system architecture complies with ADNOC standards and cybersecurity requirements.

Functional Safety

• Lead or participate in HAZOP, SIL assessment, LOPA, alarm rationalization, and functional safety reviews.
• Ensure compliance with IEC 61508 and IEC 61511 standards.

Offshore and Vendor Work

• Lead offshore site surveys, brownfield modifications, tie-in evaluations, shutdown planning, and resolution of site engineering and operational interface issues.
• Review vendor documentation for packaged equipment and participate in vendor meetings, FATs, SATs, and technical evaluations.

Construction and Commissioning

• Provide engineering support during construction and installation and review commissioning procedures.
• Support startup, FAT, SAT, loop checks, cause-and-effect testing, and system integration testing.

Qualifications and Experience

• A bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering, or an equivalent qualification is required.
• At least 15 years of Instrumentation and Control engineering experience in Oil and Gas projects is required.
• At least five years as a Lead Instrumentation Engineer on major offshore projects is required.
• Experience with offshore platforms, wellhead towers, process platforms, offshore utilities, brownfield modifications, and greenfield EPC projects is required.
• A master's degree, CEng or PE certification, TÜV Functional Safety certification, and professional organization membership are preferred.

Technical Tools

• Technical tools include SmartPlant Instrumentation, AVEVA Engineering, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, SIL verification software, and DCS or PLC engineering tools.

Project Setting

• The role supports a high-profile offshore development in Abu Dhabi and includes offshore site surveys and field engineering activities.
