IT Applications Senior Engineer

Purpose of Job

Architecture and Solution Design

• Coordinate with Enterprise Architecture on architecture and application development trends, policies, strategies, and standards.
• Review IT projects and maintain viable architecture and consistent applications across projects.
• Translate business requirements into component specifications and detailed architectures for complex systems.
• Assess functional, service quality, and systems management requirements and recommend technical solutions.

Projects, Changes, and Testing

• Gather project needs, review user requirements, and determine system requirements, timelines, and resources.
• Analyze system changes and facilitate detailed technical specifications and designs.
• Assist with business application specifications and provide detailed programming and coding inputs.
• Prepare test inputs, schedule and execute system and integration tests, and verify user needs are met.

Operations and Knowledge Management

• Resolve escalated system and application issues, identify outage root causes, and plan permanent corrective changes.
• Monitor application processes, analyze performance records and logs, and apply upgrades and patches.
• Capture application and systems knowledge and transfer it to vendors and knowledge management systems.

Education and Experience

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent discipline is required.
• A minimum of four years of relevant experience is required.
