About the Role
Petrofac seeks an experienced Inspector I - Quality with expertise in welding, piping, and NDE for oil & gas projects in Abu Dhabi. The role involves monitoring fabrication, installation, and testing processes, ensuring compliance with codes and standards.

Responsibilities
- Monitor and report fabrication, installation, erection and testing processes of process piping, steel structures, tanks, vessels and metallic items.
- Review WPS, PQR and weld maps.
- Witness Welder Qualifications and ensure material/welding consumables are stored and handled correctly.
- Ensure a system of welding consumable control is implemented.
- Ensure welding machines/baking ovens/quivers are in serviceable condition and within valid calibration period.
- Carry out inspection of work in progress including checking if the right procedure is followed for the welding process.
- Perform visual and dimensional checks.
- Monitor welding process parameters for compliance with approved procedures and project specifications.
- Prepare/Review Inspection reports (Fit up, Final Visual).
- Monitor performance of contractors, ensure personnel are qualified and competent.
- Review test reports including PWHT chart/records for process output compliance.
- Coordinate NDE activities between subcontractor, contractor and within Petrofac.
Requirements
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- CSWP 3.1 or AWS CWI for Welding and NDT Level II Certifications for NDE
- CSWIP film interpretation/CSWIP 3.2.2/ RTFI Level II Certification through Petrofac for RT interpretation
- Minimum 10 years’ experience as Welding/Piping/Pipeline QC Inspector & Painting/coating/Refractory/Fireproofing QC Inspector
- Experience in oil & gas/petrochemical industry
- Previously worked with major EPC contractor or their subcontractors

Essential Qualifications And Skills
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
