About the Role
Petrofac is hiring a Quality Inspector for coating, insulation, and refractory work at an Abu Dhabi site. The role involves inspecting surface preparation, coating application, insulation installation, and refractory lining.

Responsibilities
- Ensure weather conditions are acceptable for painting/coating work
- Monitor surface preparation, blast profile, and cleanliness
- Monitor wet and dry film thickness during coating application
- Conduct visual inspection and witness destructive tests after curing
- Inspect insulation materials and verify storage conditions
- Ensure piping and equipment are insulated per line list and isometric
- Inspect refractory installation and monitor applicator qualification
- Check lining integrity before and after dry out by hammer test
Requirements
- Diploma in Mechanical / Civil Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum years of experience as Painting/Coating/Insulation/Refractory QC Inspector
- BGAS Gr.II or NACE Level II for Painting/Coating Inspector
- Experience in oil & gas/petrochemical industry
- Previously worked with major EPC contractor or their subcontractors

- Ensure manufacturer’s instructions and MSDS are followed.
- Monitor performance of contractors and ensure applicators are competent.
- Ensure inspection and test equipment is serviceable and within calibration.
- Monitor surface preparation blast profile/cleanliness.
- Monitor wet film thickness during application.
- Monitor dry film thickness and recoating intervals.
- Conduct visual inspection and specified non destructive and/or destructive tests.
- Inspect insulation material and verify storage.
- Ensure pipe work and equipment are insulated per line list.
- Inspect insulation/cladding at each stage.
- Ensure refractory inspections and testing are carried out per procedures.
Essential Qualifications And Skills
- Diploma in Mechanical / Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum years’ experience as Painting/Coating/Insulation/Refractory QC Inspector.
- BGAS Gr.II or NACE Level II for Painting/Coating Inspector.
- Experience in oil & gas/petrochemical industry.
- Previously worked with major EPC contractor or their subcontractors.
