- Works under moderate supervision to perform on site field service directly to customers regarding installing, updating, operating, maintaining, repairing and removing of equipment to meet customer requirements.
- Installs, tests, services and repairs HVAC and controls system equipment to conform with facility operating specifications and customer requirements.
- Performs preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibrations.
- Inspects equipment on a regular basis to ensure proper functioning and provides moderately complex repair services as needed.
- Analyzes test readings, trends, and trouble reports to determine equipment repair needs.
- Monitors security stock level, timely ordering and delivery of inventory to work site.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years of verifiable work experience in the Commercial/Industrial HVAC maintenance and repair industry OR two year college / technical school with a certificate in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning
- Ability to obtain Local, State and Federal security clearances that may be required
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Must possess a REAL ID compliant driver’s license, permit, or ID card
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs. frequently and perform physically demanding tasks
- Ability to pass federal/state background checks and drug screening
- Ability to support on call rotations, and able to be onsite within two hours in response to emergency calls at the Ann Arbor, MI client site

About This Role
- This position is for a facility Staff Field Technician who will be under moderate supervision.

Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills related to Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC and DDC equipment and systems
- Basic knowledge and experience with boilers, chillers and cooling towers, Air Handling Units, pumps and air compressors
- Basic knowledge and experience with DDC control systems (Allerton, ALC, Honeywell, JCI, Invensys/Schneider, Niagara, BACnet experience preferred)
- EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification: HVAC license preferred
- Motivated self starter requiring minimal supervision
- Safety conscious with up to date training focused on the Electrical & HVAC service industries
- Ability to read service contracts, blueprints, and schematics
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Familiarity with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Effective writing and verbal communication skills
Pay Range
- The annual salary for this position is between $53,000.00 $106,000.00 annually.
- Factors which may affect pay within this range include skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications.
- This position may be entitled to short term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
