Job Summary
Experienced HV Switchgear Engineer role supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical distribution networks and critical power equipment.
The position requires a strong background in the Oil & Gas industry and involves operation, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of high-voltage electrical systems.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of HV, MV, and LV electrical systems.
- Maintain and troubleshoot 11kV, 33kV, and higher-voltage distribution systems.
- Operate, test, and maintain ACB, VCB, and SF6 circuit breakers from ABB, Siemens, Schneider, and other manufacturers.
- Carry out safe switching, isolation, grounding, and restoration of high-voltage equipment under LOTO and safety procedures.
- Perform HV cable jointing, termination, fault finding, and testing using specialized equipment.
- Test, calibrate, and troubleshoot protection relays and electrical protection systems.
- Maintain and operate transformers, VFDs, UPS systems, battery chargers, inverters, RTCC panels, and distribution boards.
- Support outage planning, commissioning, shutdown maintenance, and electrical system upgrades.
- Prepare and update control, protection, and electrical schematics for switchgear and control panels.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, industry regulations, and HSE requirements.
